TERRACE IN PORTO VENERE

TERRACE IN PORTO VENERE

Porto Venere, Italy
An incredibly elegant terrace for an incredibly charming location.

One of Italy’s most enchanting locations is home to this elegant terrace, entirely paved in Lapitec.

A layout that creates freedom and movement.
he surprising layout of the slabs creates a continuity that is repeated throughout the terrace, creating an attractive sensation of movement.

Contrasts and colours

In order to achieve a contrast with the ochre and brick red walls of the house, the Nero Antracite and Arabescato Michelangelo colour combination was chosen for the outdoor flooring, both with the subtly bush-hammered Lithos finish. An original combination of collections and colours, featuring veining on a white surface and total black – a perfect example of the endless and elegant expressive potential of Lapitec.

Slovakia
A villa in Slovakia immersed in greenery.

In Slovakia, just outside a town centre, there is a modern building surrounded by meadows and lush green vegetation, designed to allow you to get back in touch with nature. Lapitec was used to clad the elegant outdoor patio area and the geometric swimming pool, creating a sophisticated and natural look.

Exteriors full of character.
A modern building with a strong design, whose outdoor area is covered in unevenly sized slabs that create geometric effects and a sense of movement in the flooring. The villa’s outdoor area stretches out to incorporate a simple yet elegant swimming pool.

Delicately harmonious colours.
The cement finish used for the building’s façade goes perfectly with the Bianco Polare chosen for the pool cladding, which is also brought out by the greenery surrounding this home. A dynamic appearance is created thanks to the brushed texture of the Vesuvio finish, which was chosen for this project.

Fulfilling design requirements.

500 m2 of Lapitec cover the outdoor paving and swimming pool of this luxury home. For this particular application, Lapitec slabs fulfilled the design requirement of concealing the relative systems, thereby further enhancing the building’s appearance, as well as ensuring that the surfaces could be walked on.

SPA MANHATTAN

SPA MANHATTAN

New York, USA
A New York swimming pool in Bianco Polare.

One of Manhattan’s most exquisite skyscrapers is home to a stunning swimming pool, with a simple design and geometric purity.
A harmonious place where guests can find a sense of well-being, escaping from the hustle and bustle of city life.

Pure surfaces.
Almost all the surfaces in this project are made from sintered stone and feature different textures and formats, highlighting this material’s aesthetic qualities and high-performance technical characteristics. The contrasting wooden cladding on the walls and the effect of the water in the pool appear to break up this surface purity, which is accentuated by the artificial lighting.

Bright and versatile cladding.
Large-format Lapitec Bianco Polare slabs with a Vesuvio finish were used to define the flooring that surrounds the long, rectangular pool and covers the bottom section of the walls; the base of each column and shower area, on the other hand, are covered by small, rectangular tiles; Lapitec was also used for the shower tray, after being shaped to size. While Lapitec’s Satin finish was used to cover the swimming pool, the glossy Lux finish was instead used for the steps leading to the upper floor, creating a wonderfully bright effect.

High performance both inside and outside the water.

When in contact with water, or even submerged, Lapitec can express its high levels of performance: thanks to its composition, making the surface completely non-porous, this material does not absorb any liquids, it does not mould and it is also non-slip and easy to clean. Lapitec is also resistant to surface damage such as scratches, abrasions or colour alterations caused by time or intense use – all of which are fundamental properties in a place like a swimming pool.

VILLA G.

VILLA G.

Sardinia, Italy
A unique visual impact, boasting great harmony and elegance.

A design challenge in the heart of Sardinia: creating a real “family home” starting from a 1970s villa covering over 1,000 m2. Lapitec was used for the interior and exterior cladding and for the swimming pool, bathrooms and spa area.

A modern take on the existing building.
This building was completely renovated and redesigned, with the aim of creating harmony between the simple and decisive lines of the existing architecture and the softer shapes of the surrounding natural land and rocks.
The objective was to create as much continuity as possible between the interior and exterior, using the great uniformity offered by Lapitec in terms of colour. The final effect, with a great visual impact, “hides” design and technical solutions, which was made by possible by the fact that this “full-bodied” sintered stone is both high quality and easy to work with.

Earth and water: natural elements to be experienced and lived in.
The swimming pool is positioned at the front of the house, creating a scenic design between the sky and the sea; its fluid yet geometric and functional design stretches 230 m2. The cladding and walkways are completely made from Lapitec, which further enhanced the pool design by creating an area with a strong visual impact. This is mainly thanks to the choice of Bianco Crema, whose subtle and Mediterranean look blends in perfectly with the colours of the surrounding landscape. The large slabs were made to be glued together, creating great continuity in terms of texture; when combined with the infinity edge, this achieves a horizontal view that appears to stretch all the way out to sea.

The outdoor walkway and the entire area in front of the villa also uses the delicate Bianco Crema shade, this time with a Vesuvio finish, creating a slightly more structured surface. The result is an outdoor area expressing intrinsic naturalness, with sintered stone underlining and highlighting an architecture that has a strong bond with its surroundings: a welcoming and hospitable place that transmits peace and inspiration.

Strong colour continuity between inside and out, between the house and nature, using the finishes to differentiate how the surfaces are perceived, in a sophisticated way. In fact, the Satin finish is truly one of a kind, as it most closely resembles a natural element, perfectly balancing texture and a velvety touch, making Lapitec a “warm” material. The Vesuvio finish also guarantees safe paving solutions, thanks to its flamed granite appearance that reduces surface slipperiness.

A mix of finishes and colours to create different yet harmonious rooms.

For the outdoor and indoor cladding of this Sardinian villa, Bianco Crema was chosen with a Satin finish – applied to the indoor flooring and cladding in a number of bathrooms – and with a Vesuvio finish for all the outdoor paving.
For the flooring, a basic module measuring 150 cm by 75 cm was chosen, making optimum use of the Lapitec slabs, while single, floor-to-ceiling slabs were used for the walls, measuring 250 cm high.

VILLA E.

VILLA E.

Sardinia, Italy
An ambitious project that reinterprets tradition.

An enchanting villa in Porto Rotondo that interprets the rigour of the traditional Sardinian rural houses known as “stazzo”; the design of the rooms, the choice of materials and the architectural details all reflect a very modern approach, with Lapitec really expressing its full potential.

A simple design with complex details.
An ambitious and hugely respectful project set in a stunning yet gentle landscape ecosystem, in a place with deep architectural roots. The Mario Mazzer Architects studio designed this villa, taking their inspiration from the typical Gallura buildings and bringing them in line with the most modern aesthetic norms.

Lapitec: walls, flooring and a swimming pool that interact with their surroundings.
Villa E. is one of the most eloquent examples of the architectural potential that Lapitec can create and enhance. In fact, sintered stone has been used for this home’s flooring, internal walls, stairs, façade and swimming pool; the largest and smallest formats can be found here.

The fact that this material is resistant to weather conditions and the salty air meant that it could be used both indoors and outdoors, without any limitations. The fact that this stone is easy to work with allowed for details such as the bullnose pool edging and the creation of LED backlighting for the steps inside.

Warm and bright colours.

The colours bring to mind the typical warm and bright atmosphere of the Sardinian coast: Avana with a Dune finish was chosen for the flooring and interior cladding, while Bianco Polare with a Vesuvio finish was chosen for the front façade. The swimming pool – with its Grigio Cemento bottom and sides with a Dune finish and outer walkway in Nero Antracite Vesuvio – creates an effect of depth in the water, making the night lighting all the more enchanting.
